North Marion has plenty of winning tradition within its own league, and the Huskies hope they can take that success on a state playoff run in 2014.
Despite Tuesday’s 4-2 loss to La Salle Prep, North Marion (12-2) remains No. 1 in the OSAA’s Class 4A rankings. The Huskies had won 11 consecutive wins prior to losing to the No. 2 Falcons, a team they’ll face in a Tri-Valley League rematch Thursday at La Salle.

Either the Huskies or Falcons have won the Conference title for four straight seasons, as this matchup becomes one of the state's most heated rivalries. North Marion baseball coach Randy Brack felt himself getting upset with pitcher Jordan Kendall for giving up too many free bases.
But after the Huskies finished off an 8-1 victory over Molalla at home April 9 to sweep their first two-game series of the regular season, Brack was able to put the junior’s performance in perspective.
